Confusion in Manchester

Monday 11 June 2007

Confusion reigned in Manchester last weekend as local residents reported sightings of a toucan in local night spots. Toucans are usually seen in tropical regions of the Americas and not Curry Houses in the North of England but several people where convinced they saw this rare bird.

Phil Johnston, of the Tropics International Toucan Society, when asked of the sighting on Sunday said "To me it sounds like what was spotted was the larger Lettered Aracari or Pteroglossus inscriptus but sightings round here are not exactly common." He continued "It's either that or a human with a truly massive nose. If this is the case I wouldn't be surprised if they were some how descended."
